SCOX stock [A prediction]

By Peter H. Salus

May 17 2007

Following much research and at least some thought,
yesterday's "anniversary" has led me to the
conclusion that this will be over (courtesy of
Mme. Wells and Mr. Kimball) on
5 October 2007

Why?

Because that will be the anniversary of the
first broadcast of "Monty Python" (5 Oct. 1969).

IBM, SEC, and the PIPE Fairy

I think that the PIPE Fairy has milked as much out of SCO v IBM as possible. Any further money that the PIPE Fairy donates to SCO is probably wasted from the PIPE Fairy's viewpoint. The exception would be if IBM actively pursues the PIPE Fairy for their contributions to SCO's fraudulant attack on IBM. Then the PIPE Fairy would find it worthwhile to to keep funding SCO v IBM in order to defend against IBM's attack.

The alternative to IBM chasing the PIPE Fairy is for the U.S. government to bring criminal charges against all of the companies and people involved in the SCO fraud. The possible criminal penalties in this case far exceed anything IBM could inflict on the guilty parties with a civil suit. I think that it is obvious that the U.S. government is either going to do nothing or to take action only after the SCO v IBM civil suit ends. Therefore I recommend that IBM not pursue the PIPE Fairy in civil court. Instead IBM should wind up SCO v IBM as soon as reasonably possible and turn over all incriminating evidence to the SEC, FBI, etc. in the hopes that the U.S. government will massively intervene.

Steve,
My guess is that the ~200K shares traded today at prices
up to and over $1.10 are the PIPE fairy exchanging those
shares bought back last year for [?M$?] hard cash.

That's possible. Another possibility is that the PIPE Fairy is trying to keep
SCOX from being delisted by NASDAQ by running the price back up over $1.00 for a
while. If SCOX is delisted then it would be much harder for the PIPE Fairy to
funnel money to SCO through cutouts.

So, over 215K shares traded. Up well over $0.25.

If you haven't money to burn, this would be seen
as totally insane. As a way of moving $250K, it
makes a little sense. But it's a very arduous
way to move (relatively) trivial amounts of money.

But, in real business terms, the gross capitalization
of SCOG is trivial. Even with this activity it's
under $25M (M$ is $291B).
