The M$ board is slowing up,
and a good few of the regulars there are showing up on Investor Village.
IV is MUCH better than the new Y! format - very like the old one, but with some
nice extras.

"Much better" meaning "you have
to click twice to give a rec."
It also lacks those so-nice troll-filtering
negative recs.
It also lacks a coherent threading model.
I'm not looking
to start a flamewar here, but as often as people say that the IV board is somehow
"better" I'm going to respond. If you want to say that you like it better, well,
that's your business.

GTW (Gateway Computer) is very
slow too. The very nice folks at IV set up a GTW board very quickly upon request.
Myself and others are moving there for both SCOX and GTW too. Several other boards
like APPL and CSCO are slow too and some of the regular posters seem to have moved
to IV also.

Hey, at least you can
give a rec! Incidentally, you overlooked the fact that it takes two clicks here
as well!
<< It also lacks those so-nice troll-filtering negative recs.>>
Easily gamed both ways by determined multi-nym holders. Didn't work for ip-wars.
<< It also lacks a coherent threading model.>>
Click the "Start of Thread"
button, or simply access the thread that appears underneath the post!

It's a subjective thing,
no?
<< If you want to say that you like it better, well, that's your business.>>
Thanks, and I do.
Like you, I keep an eye out here, as I am sure many
people are still doing.
Should there be a troll crap flood here, people will
return to quell it.
I agree completely with your stance regarding Y! being
a major destination for info (as opposed to IV), therefore it is an important hill
in the scheme of things, yet this format is *intolerable* to most people.
In my mind, the solution would be an interface to this place that emulates the
old one.
There is an RSS feed of this. An enterprising person could maybe
build that interface and reclaim the audience for this board.

Hmmm...strange way to respond.
I won't start or participate in a flame war, but your points are pots caling kettles
black.
Recs take (at least - wait till they make you re-enter your password)
2 clicks in this new era here.
Y! doesn't have troll filtering either.
The IV board is indisputably better than the new Y! board. Respond away, but
I probably won't reciprocate. The fact is that a huge number of posters have deserted
this baord (including trolls) and gone to IV.

The MSFT board seems to have
the same kind of stats that this one has today. Only about 4 posts in the past hour.
And a lot of them are about how the format sucks.
So My guess would be that
Yahoo! boards are being deserted at large.
