Not sure how long it will
be available, but you can still get the old format by using:
http://messages.yahoo.com/bbs?action=topics&board=1600684464&sid=1600684464&type
=r
If they ever kill that, then I suspect that Yahoeuvre is dead.

I hate it.
I don't
like how the minimum rating still hides a lot of posts.
I also note that
it says there are 68050 messages when there are 385792 or so on the old board. Maybe
that's the effect of the hiding of posts whether you like it or not.

Actually, what I thought
was hiding posts was just the fact that it presents things as topics and threads,
as opposed to the old, sequentially numbered posts way. My bad. I don't hate it
*quite* so much now. I guess the 68055 number is the topic count, not the post count.

Subject: New format easier to ignore trolls
The threaded discussions take
some getting used to, but it's a lot easier just to skip the troll threads. Okay,
responding keeps bumping them up to the top, but who cares? Just keep ignoring them.
To disrupt the board the trolls will have to devise a new strategy. Even
if they spawn multiple new threads it's still pretty easy to scroll past them.

This absolutely
I just managed to bump a thread buried several pages down right up
to the top by posting a reply.
The implications of that for trolls and troll-feeders
is pretty overwhelming.
The new Y! message board suck the big one, and hard...

I just gave the posts in
this thread and the "SCOX LOST 187 CLAIMS" 5 stars. Looks like if only one person
rates posts in a thread, his rating is the average rating, unrated doesn't count.
You have to go to the trouble to low rate a troll thread if the trolls are giving
each other high points.

uh..
But I don't want
to bother getting into a rating war with trolls.
When someone replies to
a troll thread, the top post reappears, and [if] you look at the thread, you see
the original post first, and all the replies are nested below it.
I just
want to *plonk* the trolls, never see anything by them again, and also *plonk* the
idiots who keep consistenly replying to the trolls.
That way, I see hardly
anything of the troll threads at all...
