Subject: I'm in...
* Blake: SCO can't address evidence rulings, strategies,
or other details during question period.
* Very long "forward looking statement
disclaimer".
* Darl: "Active quarter in the media for SCO", not without bumps
in the road.
* "Continuing to develop new products". Bah!
* Quickly
turned the call over to Bert.
* Bert's reading off a prepared statement.
Unix revenue is down due to competitive pressure from other OSes. Well, Duh!
* Shady-sounding numbers about the Unix biz. He was talking fast & I didn't
catch them all.
* Something about the $5M Vintela note.
* Now he's
talking about the 10-Q. He says it didn't impact SCO's cash, I guess because the
recission hasn't happened yet.

Subject: it's question time:
* SVN asks about OpenSolaris. Good man! He's
following up on questions from earlier CC's or interviews. He wants an update.
Darl: "We have a pretty good idea of what Sun's trying to do". Darl's ok with
what they're doing, apparently. He'll still be very protective of his rights, or
whatever, and doesn't want to get into details ahead of Sun actually doing stuff.
He also won't comment on what level the discussion with Sun took place on.
* James Gilman on behalf or Dion Cornett. Congrats on operating expenses. Legal
expenses higher than Dion's projections. SCOSource cost breakdown: 2M per quarter
to BS&F; Expenses from escrow account; additional costs internally within SCO. In
Q2: "other expenses" lower, since he asserts that rulings have stopped discovery
in the case (huh?)
* Also Gilman: What are the other proceedings mentioned
in the 10K, and what are the other legal expenses. Bert says there are no other
lawsuits, despite what the 10k says.
* What's the current share count these
days? Additional 3.8 M on top of the 17.7 M listed in the release.
* Question
about the Nasdaq situation. Bert sounds a little testy now. Bert says it should
be sorted out "some time next week".

Subject: More questions
* Our buddy Herb Jackson of Renaissance (Big SCO
investor) throws a softball about Compuware. He'd like Darl to say stuff about this,
to shill the idea of a settlement. Darl says Tibbitts attended the hearings. Darl
seems much more prepared for this question than the others he's had to field.
So Darl's going on a big rant about IBM, mentioning discovery misconduct, and
so on.
* Yay! Al's on!!! Questions about Wolf Bauer, Scott Lemon. So who's
running Engineering now?
Darl: Back in NJ, Sandy Gupta is running the group,
working on Legend. He's VP of Engineering, and they've got no CTO. Sandy's a blend
of Wolf & Lemon.
* Al asks why they haven't updated SCO IP about DC and AZO
since November. Darl's trying to deflect the question, and wants to babble about
the future of the AZO case.
* DC case: attorneys reviewing options, due
to quirky appeals situation, things up in the air, blah blah.
* April 21,
want to delay on amending the complaint. Darl isn't proposing to delay Palmisano
hearing, but they're ok with that too.
* Al rocks.

Answer : Orders from the court
are limiting discovery costs, so we expect to see those fall in successive quarters.
Other legal expenses continue at $2M/qtr.
Fully diluted share count is 17.7M
shares.
Add another $3M shares to get full #.
We meet all NASDAQ requirements
to stay listed - except 10k and 10Q and we will meet those next week, and expect
E removal next week.

Subject: Even more questions.
* Gilman is back on the phone asking about
other litigation again, asking about subsidiaries this time, and refers to the exact
pages in the 10K where they say there's other lawsuits going on.
* MOG!!!
Where is the SCOSource money coming from. New licensees in Q1, they say, plus money
from previous Q's. They won't say any names, though. MOG didn't catch the 70k in
the press release, and didn't have any followup questions handy.
* A german
guy (didn't catch the name) asking about which is more important, Unix or SCOSource.
Legend, blah blah, biggest upgrade in 7 or 8 years, blah blah. SCOSource
is still important, blah, blah.
* Darl complains about all those third parties
doing Linux indemnification, blaming it for the "decline" in SCOSource cash, so
he's waiting for the IBM victory.
* And more GL bashing! DRINK!!! Mentions
PJ by name, she's not who she says she is!!! But SCO knows her true secret identity!!!
* George Weiss of Gartner, who's historically been a minor pro-SCO guy. Mentions
SCO's letters to Linux users, asking if that's on hold right now. Darl says they
haven't given up on stuff. Weiss asks if they're still making their Linux claims,
and Darl chooses his words carefully.
* Weiss asks about the "revoked" AIX
5 license as well. Hey, he's on the ball today. Darl says this is still on the table
as well, and they'll address it at the appropriate time.
* Weiss: When can
SCO reveal more specifics about where the violations are?
Darl's really
fudging this time. He doesn't have an answer to this one, and wants to talk about
the Wells ruling instead. No straight answer, not at all.
* Next Weiss question:
When will the S-1 be filed? Bert says within the next week or two they'll get a
draft in front of the SEC. He say's BayStar's been hassling them about it.
* How do they plan to retain key executives & employees, with compensation numbers
being down, specificlly executive comp numbers.
* Final question(s): Bob
Mims is on the phone. So who is PJ? Darl won't get into the details, and repeats
his earlier assertions. He says SCO lives on transparency. Once people know what
SCO knows, it'll be a different story. SO when, Mims asks? Not yet, still digging,
Darl says.

It
is not what is reported to me. Anyone who spends time on this, will find that al
is not what it appears to be. All is -ve on SCO, unlike the SLTribune.
Groklaw
is so biased - all it says is how to destroy SCO. "We live on transparency here

Subject: only SCO care who PJ is
Frankly PJ could be Palmisano,MOG or even
Darl, none of us would care.
Once you filter out the trolls,fanboys and gloating
(which PJ does far too much of) there's a solid core of fact and analysis and that's
what makes GL useful.
If the facts supported SCO that gloating would have
destroyed PJ by now. Its the known facts that harm SCO and their own behaviour that
makes so many so angry, not some deceptive PR campaign.

Subject: discrediting GL
Near the start of GL SCOs shills make a concerted
effort to suggest PJ is an IBM shill. The proof was IBM's donation of equipment
to ibiblio, who host GL. Well, that effort sank like a lead balloon, even SCO fanboys
couldn't really accept that a charitable donation long before GL migrated there
was proof of anything.
I suspect last nights rant about PJ's identity is
Darls attempt to restart that smear campaign. He probably does have an investigator
out there desperately looking for PJ links to IBM.
In the past they have
tried to suggest a direct link (PJ an IBM employee) based on where she lives. That
one backfired miserably when it was revealed they got the city wrong. They've also
attempted to post sealed and/or priviledged information on GL, presumably hoping
to invoke sanctions from the courts, again with no success (that's why they're so
obsessed with posts being deleted there - it kills their attempts to seed the site).
Their only hope is to link IBM to GL and it will have to be through linking
PJ to IBM, with the aim of discrediting GL or with luck getting GL gagged by the
court. Everything else failed.
Most of us are confident they wont find a
proveable link so keep your eyes peeled for 'plan B' - MOG making the assertion.
Since we're running out of court deadlines expect it soon, SCO need to silence the
analysis of their legal filings while they still have filings to make.
And
of course it made a great Wookie to distract from their financial prolems in the
CC ;)
