Ex-employees: Hostile management style may have led to a colleague's suicide, according to court documents

Tales of fear, coercion and intimidation are told by former employees who say they witnessed the toppling of Canopy Group's leadership - and endured its aftermath.

In one tragic case, they say in court documents, the purported hostile style of the technology investment firm's new management may have pushed a longtime colleague to suicide.

Robert L. Penrose, Canopy's director of information systems and technology, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his Taylorsville home late Dec. 23, according to a Salt Lake County sheriff's report.
