Subject: Possible FSF / EFF fundraising idea
First, many thanks to the great
posters here, who, as a direct result of the combined resources between themselves,
the people of Groklaw, and the Open Source community in general, have blown the
lid off of the Microsoft-sponsored attack/stock scam we all know and love. This
has been a fascinating story throughout, and I'm glad that it should be finishing
with a big bang very soon, and I'll be watching intently.
Now, I had an idea,
somewhat hare-brained, but here it goes; perhaps when the SCOX stock approaches
death knell levels (<=$1.00), what if we bought 100 shares, had actual nice printed
certificates made up, and had people like PJ, Linus, and/or ESR sign them, and auction
them off, with the entire proceeds going to whichever charity would like to associate
themselves with this. Any thoughts? Flames are okay, too, since I did say this was
somewhat hare-brained. I'd chip in $50.00, as long as I could get one cert. -Bob
P.S. I realize it could be seen as further enabling SCO, by actually paying
them money, but the amount would be so small, and the possible return to the organizations
would be much greater, that I don't see it as a problem.

Subject: What a bunch of egomaniacal dorks!
I'll bet you thought this was
going to be a post about SCO... BZZZT!!! Wrong. It's about US.
Back when
I first started hearing about the Lindon Losers™, I visited Groklaw often, and it
was there that I learned about this very board. I have spent many months reading
about all the trials(literally and figuratively) and tribulations of this now all-too-obvious
FUD pump and dump scam. It's been quite invigorating to see literally thousands
of people shining the brightest of lights on this cast of cockroaches, and I'll
be somewhat sad when they are finally delisted, and this board goes away.
However, somewhere along the way, several people, who shall remain nameless,
but whom everyone already knows, decided that perhaps the end for SCO was truly
near, and perhaps, they wanted to take some of the credit for bringing it about.
Guess what, pals... we all did it. Every one of us. Besides, these SCO dolts, and
their pals, were so pathetically inept to start with, that they did most of the
damage themselves; we just showed it to the rest of the world how stupid they were.
(Whenever I say "we" here, I'm talking about the community as a whole; I personally
have done very little, except for telling everyone who would listen about how bad
these people are.)
Now, don't get me wrong; I'm all for recognition of a
well done task. When you try to obtain that recognition at the cost of others, who
have done as much, or more, than what you might have done, is where I have a problem.
I just find it both funny, tragic, and sickening, that as the time for SCO's burial
draws near, way too many people, with or without websites, are fighting to see who
gets to piss all over their grave.
I guess I'd say this to them; nice
work, all of you, but please get over yourselves. This job is almost finished, but
it is only round one; there WILL be many more rounds to come, and if we can't work
together, Microsoft will eventually get what they want - total control - only because
YOU want to be in charge. Keep your thousands of eyes on the prize... it's the only
way we can win. We're the good guys/gals, remember???
(Consructive comments
are welcome - flames are welcome, too, but by SCO fanboys only)
Thanks for
listening.
Beware the penguins...

Subject: All Stocks = scam?
After reading up on this fiasco in the early
days, before SCO really knew what they were up against, I had the impression that
this kind of patently obvious, and highly illegal, stock price manipulation was
not very common, and it would be stopped by the SEC in short order.
HA!
That's a good one, huh?
These bastards are literally telling the SEC
to piss off; they don't care if it's against the law, they are going to do it anyway.
The SEC has sat on their loathesome, pimpled behinds and done NOTHING about this
scam, deciding instead to protect us from that spawn of Satan himself, Martha Stewart,
(*shudder*) and that is why I'll never buy stock in any company. If *these* incompetent
stooges can get away with it, just think of what all the companies with actually
intelligent criminals are getting away with! No way, I'm out. If I'm going to invest
at all, it will be in coins. At least they look nicer than that diseased tree does
on the SCO logo.
Justice will not be done until every executive of SCO,
their cohorts, and our FUD-buddies are in a maximum security prison. I await that
day with glee.
