Ok, this is a little bit of reminder of what is going on in a few hours and
explaining how to get there.
First of all, I went to SCOpe out the area where we are going to be at. It's in
a pretty open area with A LOT of parking. The sidewalk is also 15ft from the
building, so they should be able to read our signs very easily. In other words,
this place is great for picketing. :-)
The official event is from 3 to 5pm, but we are going to be meeting at 2:30 in two
places before we go there. It might be best to quote Soren here:
----
If you don't want to show up on your own, we will meet at 2:30 pm at one
of two locations:
- Provo High School parking lot, in front of the main entrance
- Parking lot of Home Depot in Lindon (right off the I-15 entrance).
I will be at the former location, Evan McNabb at the latter. If you
live south of BYU campus in Provo and don't want to walk to Provo High,
I can come get you around 2:00. Email me.
----
If you're going directly to the SCO offices it's easy to get to. Thank
you SCO for telling us where to go:
http://www.sco.com/company/directions2.html
I really hope we have a good size crowd today. We've contacted almost all the TV
stations and newspapers in Utah and they are interested in hearing our view on
the story. We might even have someone from California coming out to be with us (he
is coming out here for something else but might move his flight up to join the
demonstration). :-)
Once again, we need to follow the rules we have been given and should remember
we are representing the Open Source community. Also, as a reminder, BYU is fine
with us doing this but they don't want their name attached to the protest. So
don't say anything about BYU at the event and leave your BYU basketball jersey
and your blue & white pom-poms at home. :-)
Well, I better get to work on my sign; it's going to be a big one!
I hope to see you all there...

If anyone would like to print copies of a flyer I made for today's
protest, the PDF is at:
http://www.et.byu.edu/~soren/sco-myths.pdf
I'll probably going to go make 100 copies or so.

To keep unified we may also want to direct all media (press) to our
spokespersons which I believe are Jayce, Evan and Soren. I know that
they have been preparing statements and responses to any comments from
SCO. So if someone asks you about something and it's obvious that they
are media, direct them to the spokespersons. It will be better to have a
prepared quote misquoted than an unprepared quote misquoted.

Wow, they really must not want us to go today; they took the map off
their webpage! It was working this morning...
http://www.sco.com/company/directions.html/
Ok, just get off the highway at Exit 276. Go north on the road east of
the highway that runs past Home Depot. You'll turn right at the round-about
and you'll pass Comcast building on your left. The SCO offices are to
the left on 520 West. They have a big SCO sign on their building; its
hard to miss. Well, maybe they'll take that down too!
