True. Strange that there is no other error. This can happen if you create the account twice with different capitalization, but that doesn't appear to be the case here. The only thing I can think of is to try deleting the zone, and re-create it after the deletion takes effect. > I have the "subdude.com" zone currently being published at zoneedit but > would like a backup DNS service. In that case you should be setting up a secondary account at GC, not primary. - Fred

Oh, ZoneEdit- well I am creating this zone in case Zoneedit goes down or they change there policies. It can take so long to get a GC zone published, I thought I would keep a functioning zone on GC just in cae. > > Here is the error message; > > cannot redefine zone 'subdude.com' class IN > > This suggests that the zone already exists in the > > named.conf but none is being published. > True. Is there any way to have the GC named.conf files flushed of different-capitalized versions of the subdude.com zone? > The only thing I can think of is to try deleting the > zone, and re-create it after the deletion takes effect. I tried that in the past. Completely deleted the zone, allowed weeks to go by before the error message disappeared from the reject list, and tried a completely new fresh zone. > > I have the "subdude.com" zone currently being published > > at zoneedit but would like a backup DNS service. > In that case you should be setting up a secondary account at > GC, not primary. It is intention to keep the zone on GC in the event Zoneedit goes down or changes policy - not as a true secondary. Thanks Fred, CD
