Linux can be got from the following (among others), which all sell CDs: http://www.iConnect.com/ http://www.pht.com/cd-roms/ http://www.infomagic.com/ http://www.cdrom.com/ http://www.redhat.com/ http://www.caldera.com/ http://www.yggdrasil.com/ http://www.cheapbytes.com/ The German SUSE distribution (did I get that right?) has started a USA distribution point which is on the web, as well. You can ftp linux from many of these sites. Also check out these for more information: http://sunsite.unc.edu/mdw/#ldp http://www.linux.org/ Or if you're into BSD (not linux, but a fine unix clone), look at: http://www.freebsd.org/ http://www.netbsd.org/ http://www.openbsd.org/ This should give you enough options to choke a box full of hard drives. -- Perry Grieb c23...@eng.delcoelect.com Special of the week: SPAM proofread for $500 per message.

I have a document I will send to anybody who is interested that steps the New User through a first download and installation of a Linux operating system. It is for new users so it is called NewUser.txt and it is in DOS unformatted plain text. Just drop it into your favorite editor (DOS/WIN/NT), format it and print it out. Just e-mail me at b...@mdi.ca or brian_t...@rocketship.com and put in your Subject line "New User". If you don't put 'New User' in your subject line, it will just take a little longer. This is a long weekend in Canada (Thanksgiving) so expect a response by Monday evening. The document is less than 9k zipped and expands to approximately 14 pages (lots of white space). Will send uncompressed, if you ask. Regards, Brian.
